The Stormtroopers were the loyal soldiers of the Emperor and they represented the obvious extension of the Imperial strength. Designed to strike their enemies with speed and accuracy, the Stormtroopers maintained order in the far corners of the Empire. Stormtroopers served both the ground-based armies of Palpatine's forces and the space-based Imperial starfleet.
Stormtroopers were known to give up their right to individuality to be part of the whole. Their bodies were completely encased in a white armored shell and were armed with blaster pistols or rifles. Over time they found that specific environments called for specially trained and equipped stormtroopers, thus were born the snowtroopers and scout troopers.
